In August 2024 a professional polling company (yougov) surveyed a sample of Canberra residents, seeking their attitudes towards Voluntary Assisted Dying.
The results of the survey were announced at a launch on Monday 2 September at the Reception Room in the ACT Legislative Assembly in Canberra.
Key findings of the survey:
Over 75% of Canberrans are in favour of widening the eligibility for Voluntary Assisted Dying, and a significant majority want the Legislative Assembly to do this in the next term of government.
